Lexi's It

Lexi was tagged a little while ago. It's hard to come up with 6 random things about her, since I blog about her all of the time. So, here's what I came up with....

Lexi shoves food into her mouth. I have to be careful when she's eating something herself. I can't just put a whole serving in front of her. I have to give it to her in portions, because she will just keep putting food into her mouth until the food is gone, and then she'll start chewing.

Speaking of food, she stuffs food in her cheeks. This happens with foods that she apparently does not like. Mainly hot dogs and chicken nuggets. When the food is set before her, she quickly shoves everything into her mouth. I guess if she doesn't really like it, she just chews it and moves it into her cheeks. Where it will stay until either she takes it out (not usual) or I dig it out with a spoon (most likely). I've even tried giving her other things to eat that she likes to get her to swallow whatever's in her mouth. She somehow manages to eat what she likes while keeping the offending food in her cheeks.

In this picture, you can see the little bits of pasta that she chose not to eat.

Lexi likes to play the repeat game. You know - where someone says something and the other one repeats it. Except, with Lexi, it's noises. She likes to make a sound, and then if you repeat it, she makes a different sound. Her and Logan tend to get really loud when they play.

Lexi loves the bath. She starts grinning as soon as the water is turned on. She wasn't too fond of them at first, but then she discovered she could splash. She thinks it's just great.

Lexi likes to play with Logan. She thinks that just about everything he does is funny. Unless he's bugging her, then she doesn't laugh - she actually has started pushing him away. But, most of the time she really enjoys his company.
Lexi has a great laugh. I really think most all babies have a great laugh, and Lexi's is no exception. She thinks it's funny when other people laugh and she just joins right it. Here's a quick little video clip of her laughing at Jon blowing up a balloon. (Be sure to pause the music first).
So - there are a few tidbits about my sweet baby girl. Don't worry, I'll let you know about whatever cute/funny/weird/crazy thing she does next.

Logan's Good News

Most of you know that Logan's had skin issues since he was a baby. He's had eczema ever since about 3 or 4 months old. We had to switch him to the soy formula, and then switch him again to the hypoallergenic formula. Then, when he got to have milk, we used soy milk for a while. The allergy tests showed he was allergic to milk, eggs and peanuts. No fun at all.
At about 1 and a half, we did another allergy test. The milk and egg were still there, but very low. The peanut was gone completely, but the doc recommended to not give him anything with peanuts until he was 3. Okay. Meanwhile, he still has skin problems.
This past December, the doctor he saw when we were in AZ strongly suggested we take him off of dairy products. Poor kid! His favorite foods are: cheese, pudding, cheese, yogurt, milk and cheese. Seriously, the kid would eat a cheese sandwich for every meal if he could. We didn't take him completely off of dairy, but we limited it to about 1 serving per day. We even got him soy chocolate milk to drink (not telling him, of course, that it was a different kind of milk). He liked it and I'm glad I never really had to explain why he could have chocolate milk but not white milk.
So - what's the good news? I finally asked his doctor here to run another allergy test to see where things stood. Boy oh boy was it fun taking him to get his blood drawn. Man - that boy can scream! But, he got to eat at McDonald's (not just the drive-thru), he got his choice of ice cream to eat, and he got to get a big toy at Target. We just got the test results back the other day - no food allergies! Yeah - he was so excited to be able to eat pudding again. Too bad he still has skin problems, but at least we know now that it's not because of food.

I thought we were done...

But mother nature has plans of her own, I guess. I'm talking about the weather, of course. After a few weeks of non-stop snow, we had a few weeka of nice weather. High's in the 40's - it was great. I even saw some kids the past few days wearing shorts and t-shirts. Then, this morning, we awoke to snow. Again. It wasn't even in the forcast, this time. Jon's happy, because he's going snowboarding tomorrow. And I'll admit that it is pretty - I just really don't like driving in it. Oh well.

When we had our big snow a few weeks ago, Jon made a little snow fort for Logan in our front yard. It even had a window. Logan thought is was the coolest thing.

After a few days, he and his friends knocked it down, then it snowed some more and it turned into a big hill. He was playing outside one day and came in to ask if he could use his sled. So I go outside to see why, and I saw this:

He had a great time on his new sledding hill.

Lexi's 1 year pictures

Oh my goodness! Major bragging alert here... my kid is so stinkin cute! Here are some of her 1 year pictures. It was hard to pick which ones to pick which ones to put on here.

She just had a great time getting her picture taken.

Here's Jon giving her a cupcake cookie... She wasn't too sure at first, but I think she liked it.

This one is one of my favorites.

Happy Valentine's Day

For Valentine's Day this year, Jon and I are... watching a Suns game. We are so excited. Jon has practically gone into withdrawal since moving to Idaho, since the Suns are hardly ever on a channel we get. But they're on tonight, baby, yeah! And then tomorrow, we have a sitter and we're probably going to dinner a movie. I think I'll make him take me to a chick flick...

Here are some random pictures of the loves of my life...

My Baby Girl

I can't believe Lexi is 1 already! She had a great day today. Jon got to stay home today, so that was nice. We took her to get her picture taken, and she was just so stinkin' cute! I'll post some of the pictures in a week or so. While we were there, I was holding one of her hands so she could stand for a few of the pictures. I decided to let go and she actually stayed standing. For quite a long time. I told the photographer this was the longest Lexi has ever stood by herself before. And then guess what Lexi did... She took a step! She actually took some steps a couple of times, it was so great! (of course, she hasn't taken any more steps since...oh well)

After pictures, we hung out at the mall for little while, where Logan picked out her present from him. A Disney princess cell phone, which he then proceeded to take away from her to play with. Then we came home and Lexi and I took a nap together. Then she opened her presents and had cake. I had ordered a simple little cake from Walmart, and when I went to get it, I noticed they had these really small cakes. So, I got one of those for her to have fun with. When the gal brought out the cake, she saw I had this little cake, as well, and she said she could sell it to me for a penny if I wanted. Well, duh - of course I wanted! That was so great. Lexi had a grand time with the presents and cake. We're so thankful so our sweet baby!

I think she got confused about the presents and thought they were for eating. She wasn't quite sure what to do with them.

At first she seemed thrilled about the new clothes...

But that didn't last long.

She was very excited to eat cake.
