Our trip ... and other stuff

This past weekend we had the pleasure of being able to attend Patrick's college graduation. Way to go Patrick - we're all so proud of you. Of course, that meant a normally 5-hour trip took over 6 hours going and almost 7 hours coming back, seing as there were 2 little kids in the backseat. But, they both did surprisingly well. They both slept half the way going down there, so that was nice. I did bring my camera with me, but wouldn't you know, I didn't even take a single picture while we were there. We stayed at Patrick and Heather's new house and Patrick made it his goal to have Lexi like him before we left. I think he succeeded - she especially liked him when he had food to give her.

Anyway, David and Laura drove back with us to visit here for a few weeks. We stopped in a town called Burley to get a milkshake and we noticed this sign across the street. So, I had to take a picture. Yep, folks, this is the only picture I have of my trip to see Patrick graduate.

In other news - Lexi had some more fun with the lightsabre today. Here's a quick video of her and Logan.

Logan Randomness

Okay - so here are some random pics of mister Logan. He's doing great. I took him to register for Kindergarten last week. He's not quite sure what this whole school thing is about. Of course, he went to preschool down in AZ and here he goes to a daycare where they do preschool stuff, but Lexi's there, too, so it's not like actual school. I think he may be in for a little shock when big-kid school starts. I don't know yet if he'll be morning or afternoon (they don't have all-day here - crazy). Apparently there's going to be around 80-100 kids in Kindergarten as his school next year. I hope they get enough teachers so the classes aren't too big.

Logan had a dentist check-up a few weeks ago. As you may recall, the last time he saw the dentist it was because of an abcessed tooth which he got removed and also got 4 crowns. Let me tell you, it was a big struggle to get him to let his teeth get cleaned. I feel bad for him, but I was so frustrated, as well. His teethed did eventually get cleaned, but not flossed. Oh well, at least we got 1 out of 2. The good news is he did not have any cavities. I can't tell you have relieved I was!

So, one day about a month ago, Logan and Meygan (the girl next door) decided that the stuffed animals were babies and they needed diapers. Whatever, no big deal. Meygan has since moved on to other things, but Logan has not forgotten that his dog is now a baby. I found him like this one night:

Yes - the dog/baby is sitting in Lexi's booster seat at the table and is wearing a bib to eat the pretend food. After "dinner" Logan rocked the baby to sleep. A few days later, I got him getting into Lexi's clothes to find things for the baby to wear. And now, his cow is a baby, as well. He even brought the cow to me yesterday (all dressed, complete with diaper, clothes, socks and shoes) for me to babysit while he did laundry. He then proceeds to put clothes into a bucket and then lays them out to dry. What a funny kid - he totally cracks me up!

Lexi Randomness

As Jon recently pointed out, I seem to blogging more about AI than my kids lately. So, here are a few random pics of my girl.

She's been a little sick lately, poor thing. But she's a trooper and is getting through it. We haven't given her any dairy products since saturday, as I'm afraid she'll, um, give it back, you know what I mean? She's been fine napping and going to sleep without a bottle, so I think I may just try to be done with them. We'll see.

She's also teething up a storm. At last count (or attempted count, I should say), she's on number 12. Too bad she still doesn't seem to use them much. The stuff she, um, gave back last week was full of unchewed chunks of stuff. Yeah, I know - you really wanted to know that, right?

She's also learned to shake her head no when she doesn't want something. And she throws a mean tantrum. She's even got the whole arching the back and slamming the head into the ground thing going on. It's a good thing she looks so cute while doing it!

PS: It was a little sad not to see Michael on AI this week. However, I am glad Kristy was the one voted off. I was worried for a second that it was Brooke, and then I might have had to stop watching.

What the heck happened?

Sorry, Jon, but I have to post one more picture for Michael Johns. I was stunned when he got voted off last night. He was usually one of my top 2 or 3 favorite performers every week. I didn't think he would win, but I thought for sure he would last longer than Kristy, Jason and Syesha. Alas, we can't get what we want all of the time, eh?

April Showers...

... turn into snow. That's right. We woke up to snow this morning - how crazy is that? But, by afternoon, the sun was shining and it was t-shirt weather. I love it here.

Jon has hinted not so subtlely that he would like no more AI pictures, so I won't post one this week. That won't stop me from commenting on it, though. It was another kind of weird night for me. My top 4 last night were, in no particular order: David A, Brooke, Michael and Jason (shocking, I know). I just love the version of 'Somewhere Over the Rainbow' that Jason sang, and I think he did a great job singing it - that style works for him. I was highly disappointed in David C, as I think most of us were. I didn't think Brooke was great, but I just really love her voice, so it's going to take an extremely bad performance to knock her out of my top 3 or 4. I can't believe the big voice that comes out of little David A - he's amazing.

In other news, my mom is visiting this week. Every time she comes, a room in my house gets a makeover. Last time it was Lexi's room (I still need to take some pictures to show you) and this time it's our downstairs bathroom. It's such a little room, but it's been fun picking stuff for it. I'm taking before, during and after pictures, so I'll post them when it's done.

Speaking of pictures, I currently do not know where the cord is to hook up my camera to the computer, which is why there hasn't been any new pictures lately. I have a bunch from Easter and a couple zoo trips, so hopefully I'll find the cord soon. Since I'm a firm believer in having a picture in every post, here's a random one of the kids playing with the lightsabers. Lexi had a blast flailing that thing around.

Music and Basketball

So, listen, Dawg, it was a'ight for me tonight. There wasn't really any stand out performances for me this week, but if I had to pick a favorite, it would be Michael Johns. He's always at the top of my list, anyway. As for the others, Brooke and the Davids round out my top 4. I listened to Carly's song, but to be honest with you, I fast forwarded through the other 4 songs after the first line. They just don't cut it for me. The best news of the night? David Cook got a haircut! I am no longer bothered by his hair.
.
As for college basketball: after 4 rounds and 60 games played, here are the standings:
Jon: 35
Jamie: 29
Pretty pathetic, I know. Jon has 3 of the final 4 remaining and I have 2. No matter what, Jon will win. He deserves to win every once in a while, I guess...
.
Just for fun...who can guess some words I stole from two of the AI judges?
