Todays Picture

Here's the picture I found on my laptop this morning. This was on July 4th 2007. One of the major pluses about our move to Idaho. We get to do fireworks!
This picture of Lexi was on the laptop for the past few days. I really don't know why I keep buying the kids toys when the diaper box is just as fun....

The Deacons Quorum

Shortly after we bought our house I was called as the 2ND counselor in the Young Men's Presidency. You know what that means, deacons. I know what your thinking but deacons are people too. Right after my calling we had Priesthood preview which is to meet and talk to all the 11 year-olds that will be turning 12. I really had no idea what I was supposed to be doing at first because it was such a new calling to me. I remember thinking that I shouldn't be with the deacons. They are too young and I can't relate to any of them. I'd much rather be with the teachers or priests. As it turns out (and Jamie can attest to this), I'm just a big kid myself. We had another Priesthood preview tonight and it seems like they just keep getting smaller. Now I love the deacons! We have a ton of fun and I love the calling (except for the snow camp outs, and yes they camp all year here, the last one being about 5 degrees when we woke up in the morning). What are some of your favorite/least favorite callings in the church? Keep in mind if you mention you least favorite, that is almost a guarantee you'll be getting that one soon.

Today's Picture and an Anniversary

Here's the picture I found on my laptop today:

Jon and I celebrated our 8th Anniversary last Monday. He took the day off and we hung out and went to lunch at Tucanos (a Brazillian Grill - it's been open since Feb 12 and we've been twice already!) Then on Friday I planned a surprise date for him - a movie, steak dinner and a hotel room - no kids! It was great to sleep in and not have to worry about the kids - they were in the more than capable hands of Grammie and Papa, who are visiting for a while. I've been thinking about posting a Happy Anniversary post all week, but I discovered that I have no pictures of just Jon and I - crazy, I know! Laura was nice enough to take a few pictures of us yesterday when we were out for a drive in the mountains.

We even got one of the whole family.

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY JON - I LOVE YOU!!!
